Seize the moment-Rally in Salem Feb. 19

It's time to make some noise for schools! Hope everyone can come to the rally that Stand for Children is organizing in Salem, Monday Feb. 19. This is a holiday for kids and also many adults. There are buses being organized from schools all around town. You can go for just the rally (12-1) or do an optional meet-your-legislator before or after the rally.

This is a once-in-our-kids-school-career opportunity to get some gains in school funding. For the first time in 16 years, the political climate in Salem as well as the economy are favorable for schools-but money is still tight and we must make our voices heard! Let's have a big NSA presence at this event.

Here's the scoop:

Join thousands of others at the State Capitol in Salem on Monday, February 19 for a Presidents Day Education Rally. Show the Legislature that Oregonians want to restore essential K-12 programs and fully fund Oregon Head Start. This free, rain-or-shine event takes place at noon on the Capitol steps. It's a holiday, so plan to bring your kids. Buses are available that will leave from schools around town, but they need your registration to hold a seat on the bus. Make the difference for our schools by registering to attend today. To register for the Rally and a bus ride or carpool, go to www.stand.org/or/2007rally, email rally@stand.org, or call 1-800-663-4032.
